hi, saya lily. saya ada kucing stray yang selalu saya bagi makan. kucing tu juga selalu masuk dalam rumah. it’s a female cat, age around 1year 3months.3 bulan lepas dia baru beranak lagi 4 ekor kittens. i wish would to spay-neuter the cat. but i really cant efford. i student lagi. i pun tak ada duit. i nak tanya saja kalau myanimalcare ni ada donate utk spay-neuter. dan any places or vet yg u boleh recommend sekitar seberang perai, penang.

Dr.Chan, when can we spayed a mother cat? I wanted to spay the mother cat (mother of Wolverine, Puma, Leopard & Jaguar), because every night I hear male cat that are on heat, meowing in my neighbourhood.
After the kittens are weaned off breastmilk and the mother's mammary glands are no longer engorged. May need to first, wean the kittens off by letting them eat on their own (wetfood or baby kibbles), separate them from the mother so that they don't suckle anymore, then let the vet check whether the mother is ready to be spayed.
Ever since I got the cage, I confined the mother cat every night, because I afraid the male cat will come at night & 'disturb' the mother cat. All the 3 kittens are now on wetfood & they drink water from the water bowl on their own. But I sometimes saw them suckle breastmilk. I let them suckle, so that they can get more antibodies. Is it, if the kitten continue to suckle, then the mother will continue to produce milk? If this is the case, then I cannot confine the mother with her kittens?
Yes, the suckling makes the brain continue producing milk. If you wish to get the mother spayed, you would have to stop the kittens from suckling.
