As you know, RetroMAD1 is an experimental drug that has proven helpful in alleviating the following diseases:
1. Canine Parvovirus (dogs)
2. FIV/FeLV in cats (only if symptomatic)
It has also been helpful in Canine Corona Virus, Feline Calici Virus and certain diseases in shrimps and primates.
RetroMAD1 is known to work as a virus blocker and in several other ways to prevent virus from causing further harm to the body.
I spoke with Mr Huan (one of the scientists) this morning and he has requested that I write this post.
They are still testing the drug on other diseases and would appreciate very much if vets are interested to introduce the drug to rescuers. Interested vets can obtain the drug from their Animal Trial Officer, Ms Yanthi (03-79604942) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please be informed that it is a data-for-drug exchange programme.
On our end, we have tested the drug on 2 canine parvovirus cases and FIV+ cats and found it very helpful. The drug has also helped to quicken the regression for TVT in one dog. There is also a case of it being helpful in cat parvovirus. These data has been given to the scientists as anecdotal records.
Currently, the drug is only available through veterinarians.
