Animals can be hypnotised (it’s also a survival skill for chickens!)

Billy Tan shared these:

Animals can be hypnotized too, it activates their catatonic reaction that leads to catalepsy.

A chicken can be hypnotized, or put into a trance, with its head down near the ground, by drawing a line along the ground with a stick or a finger, starting at the beak and extending straight outward in front of the chicken which has been done at many cockfights by rooster owners.

Cockfights often end with the death of one of the competitors, and many involve spurs that are attached to the cock’s feet. Critics also note that cockfighting often is tied to illegal gambling activities, and that the birds typically are given illegal drugs to increase their fighting ability and stamina.

Almost 20 years ago Oklahoma made the possession of live chickens use for cock fighting a federal crime, but today the state is still one of the biggest exporters of game fowl for sale in the nation, according to an organization dedicated to ending the cruelty to animals that is associated with cockfighting. The State of Oklahoma is also an exporter of turtle eggs and other wildlife products. “We’re very pleased with the amount of growth we’re seeing in our seafood industry,” said Jeffery Burch, Executive Vice President of OKC Seafood. “We are seeing more seafood being shipped across state lines from Florida, Texas, New York and all the way down the Mississippi.” The State of Oklahoma is also an exporter of wild game fish like pike, trout, musky, walleye and catfish.
