Dear Dr Chan,

My name is Norfadzillah Fauzi from Sri Rampai KL, the stray (i named him Bobob) that waited outside my door was diagnosed with sporo and the vet i took him to advised PTS, but i wanted to try taking care of him on my own with medication, after the first ten days his wound was recovering quite a bit as you can see in before and after pics attached. The vet informed me he needs to be on ongoing meds and liver supplement after that. Im wasnt optimistic that he will recover at first and wanted to wait it out.
Once i was told about the long recovery process, i knew i needed this subsidy. Now I want to apply for the medical subsidy but im afraid i wont be able to reach the 14 day deadline as i just realized this now. the first receipt is dated 28th Sept and second reciept 9th oct. I didnt know anything about sporo and how infectious or how dangerous it is or whether bobob will recover at all as he was in bad shape being so thin and gasping.
Can i request this help, i really need it to help this cat. I’ve attached the receipts and his pics for your reference. Note that the receipt doesnt have my name though i told the vet staff to do so at the time my mistake of not checking until i got home as i was so nervous. I also got help from IPR with the first bill.
Dr chan, after reading the guidellines and terms of the subsidy, i realised there would be problems with my application in terms of the dates. i would like to be honest in this situation and highly hoping that you could help me out. I will provide you anything that is requested of me.
Thank you for your time, looking forward to your reply Dr Chan.

We advised Fadzillah she could claim for the second bill as the first had already been helped by IPR.

Dear Dr.,

Yes Dr i believe i can go back to the vet day after tomorrow to get my name and stamp on there, they are closed for three days since yesterday for the holidays. I found the cat outside my door on the night of 27th Sept 2013 and brought him to the vet suggested by IPR on the 28th.
I was distraught knowing about sporo and how careful i needed to be if decided on home care. I have to be responsible for him and for the community to contain the spread of the fungus. I’m living in an apartment and dont have proper space but i will have to do with that for now Dr. I can only afford to get meds ‘every’ ten days or so until he is fully recovered as im unemployed and only doing freelancing here and there. Can you please advise me on the subsidy of his coming bills Dr?
Thank you Dr.

We connected Fadzillah with our readers who could help by sharing their experience in nursing sporo-cats. We also sent her links of our previous sporo-cat cases. Fadzillah was also informed that she could claim for the bills every 10 days.

Dear Dr Chan,

I am emailing you a proper picture of Bobob, the stray with sporo whom i found on the 27th Sept 2013. He has been on medication for sporo and skin repair since the 28th Sept and according to the vet the recovery will take time. I really appreciate it if i could get the medical subsidy for Bobob as i have many other adopted cats under my care. I cant really afford it and have to get his meds every ten days or so, i will therefore apply for the subsidy according to your advice. The form and original receipt will be sent to the address by tomorrow. Thank you for caring and all the advice given is very helpful.
Thank you for your time, Dr Chan.
