Kampung eggs from an exclusive “girls club”, wildcrafted and bee-friendly honey, from farm to home!

We have written about this before and we received some queries on where the kampung eggs might be available.

I get mine from Medifoods in SS18, but for those of you who live in other areas, here’s more information, direct from the farmer, Ivan, and his helper, Phui Ling. Do consider organising a community centralised buying, it’s a great idea!

Female Fowl Club

chickensThese hens love gatherings. They come together during the day, foraging for food on grassy fields or just relaxing. At night, they snug themselves warm and safe by
resting closely with one another. The only private moment for them is when they are laying eggs. Once the egg rolls out, the hen SCREECHES… to announce her
completion of her egg laying deed and off she goes, joining her flock once more.

Our Fowl
During the day, the hens move in flocks to look for food. They saunter among
grasses, scratching the grounds, checking on nooks and crannies to find
lovely meals awaiting. Plenty to feast on – weeds, seeds, fruits, nut as well as
worms and insects – all of these are part and parcel of their daily diet. Some
days, wild grass clippings and tubers that are inoculated with probiotics are
placed in fields for the hens to feed on to help strengthen their overall
friendly gut bacteria for better health and well-being.
After a day’s work, to wind down, the hens indulge in luxurious dust baths,
relishing the cool breeze while being embraced by the evening sun – as
Nature would have it.

Kampung Harvest Free Range, Individually Selected, Non Fertilized Eggs
The farmers gather the eggs in the hen house during the break of day while
the hens are out at play. Into a basket, the fresh eggs go.

At Kampung Harvest Home, each egg is held and felt to ensure only weighty
ones with no crack are placed on the egg cartons. This is the trust you receive
from every carton that comes from Kampung Harvest.

You left out about the ‘wildcrafted and bee-friendly honey’? 🙂

Oh, that comes under “contact Ivan and Phui Ling for further information”! They sell three types of honey, that’s all I know and their honey-farming methods are non-invasive. Maybe I should just write that in now. Thanks! I haven’t had a chance to try their honey yet, though.
