SS14 community does its bit in greening the environment – Recycling used cooking oil!

Subang Jaya residents, here’s a sharing:

Let’s Keep Our Environment Clean!Let’s Keep Our Environment Clean!Starting today, our Recycling Centre at SS14RT Cabin is ready to take in USED COOKING OIL from homes and also food outlets in the neighbourhood.Here’s what 2 simple steps to start recycling cooking oil:

1. Start collecting your used cooking oil in an oil bottle/container. If you can, please sieve the oil before you store them in your container once the oil has cooled down;

2. Once the bottle is full, hop over to the SS14RT Cabin and deposit the oil into the blue drum (located on the left side of the recycling section). There is a funnel and pvc pipe attached to the drum to help you pour the oil in with minimum spillage. Once you have finished, please remember to cap the pvc pipe opening to avoid having rain water go in.

Benefits of Recycling Used Cooking Oil

1. The old practice of pouring the unwanted oil into the drains will slowly be stopped. Oil that is thrown in the drain is bad for the environment. It will cause the drains to clog up and food particles attract rodents and cockroaches;

2. You can now do your bit for the environment by just pouring your used cooking oil into a container and depositing it with us. The oil will be sold to our partner KitaReward to be converted to biogas.

3. Funds raised from the sale of the used cooking oil will be channeled to SS14 Rukun Tetangga for its community initiatives all year round.

Start collecting your used cooking oil today and let’s make our environment, especially our drains cleaner.

Pass the word around to your neighbours and favourite food outlets and get them to join us for this GREEN Cause.

Location: Jalan SS14. RTSS14 cabin.

    i pick up trash & put into blcck bags in Denggi-Mosquito campaigns. I clear branches sticking out from the side of roads into pedestriens face when my face hits the branch or when I happen to see other peoples’ face hit the branch. I clear branches of trees which stick out into road where road is needed for pasar Ramadhan stalls. I uproot lalang-weeds which grow around roadside Buddhist statues in red color small cement structures. I also pick up leaves and litter which are around roadside Buddhist statues in red color small cement structures. I live in Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong-Cyberjaya area. A recording of the song “Go For It Joey B Ellis Rocky 5” was made by one of my customers-a chinese shop owner in Taman Putra Perdana, view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjJWp_RGho0
