Neutering aid for 1 cat in Kuala Lumpur (Jacqueline Wong Mei Lin’s) & Updates

We have provided an aid of RM100 for the neutering of this male cat, Blackie.

Updates on the previous cat, Charlie, are below. Charlie and Blackie are good friends in their colony. Please see photos below.

I managed to trap Blackie just before Puasa month, when the café will be open and busy at night! I have been trying for 2 months now, but that night he walked into the cage at 6.30pm. I couldn’t get to my regular vet at 7pm because it was raining and roads were packed, and the clinic was closed the following day. So I rang around, and there was only 1 vet nearby that was open and basically I had no choice. There’s no way he would let me trap him again, this meant that I had to take him to this nearest vet, one that I have not used before, and the charges were higher.

But I did notice that at this vet, Blackie got treated so well. The vet stroked and cuddled him a few times a day. By the time I went to pick him up he was a completely different cat and was open to being carried and stroked. I also got daily updates. So maybe that’s what you pay for.

Blackie definitely got the 5 star treatment at this vet’s and it made me rethink how I view him. He was always the one bullying the other cats and acting very feral. With a bit of love and understanding he was completely different.

We were away this weekend and I sent my friend to check on them. She sent me photos too.

Blackie is the last male in the colony to be trapped and neutered. I drop by the colony every 2 days. The restaurant owner and his staff help to replenish the food that I provide and water as they need it. I am responsible for wellbeing and health which includes vaccination. I have taken the others for their 2nd vaccination and medical check-ups already.

I have previously neutered the other 4 males, and 1 female. The other 2 females have been put into foster care and have just given birth. Once kittens have been weaned and are ready for adoption, I will spay, vaccinate and release the 2 females. I will do a full write up on them when I do.

The previous claim, Charlie:

Also please see attached 2 recent photos of Charlie. She was returned to the colony and Blackie was the first to greet her. She was very happy when Blackie was returned and they spend most of their days lounging together on the restaurant chairs. Her kittens are doing well in foster and will be ready to be rehomed soon.

There is also a latest photo (below) of Charlie and Blackie. I was at the restaurant again on the weekend and caught Blackie and Charlie hanging out together. Blackie always lets Charlie eat first before he eats. It’s quite sweet. I’m thinking of renaming them Hang Tuah and Gusti Putri, except when they are bullying the hungry cats then I want to name them Adolf and Eva hahahaha!.
