Uncle Lee sent a voice message in Cantonese this morning to thank all donors.
Mr Lee Mook Lek has 43 rescued dogs (all rescued by himself) in two locations, one is at his home-converted shelter and another at an abandoned factory not too far away. Uncle Lee sells vegetables at a stall in the wet market. We started helping him last month when a friend alerted us about his difficulty in feeding the dogs due to the slowdown in his vegetable business. When we visited Uncle Lee, he told us the medical history of many of his dogs. Sick dogs are all sent to the vet’s for treatment. Last week, Uncle Lee also informed me that he sometimes sees stray dogs on his way home from work and he gave them the food that we sent too. He took some photos and sent them to me. We truly appreciate the transparency. In my conversations with him, Uncle Lee also told me that his dogs are now used to the kibble and canned food, but he uses them carefully by giving them some, and only replenishing after they have finished eating so as to not waste any food. We again appreciate this very much. When asked how much of the food he needs for his dogs each day, Uncle Lee says he uses about 8 cans (1230g) and 1/2 a pack of kibble (18kg).
These photos below were shared by Uncle Lee. We only sent 6 boxes of canned food last month so that had been used up fast. We are sending more this month since the dogs prefer canned food with rice.
Thank you so much for your support in helping to feed Uncle Lee’s dogs.
The photos above show the dogs at the abandoned factory where Uncle Lee carries food and water to the dogs on his three-wheeled motorcycle.
The video at the end shows the dogs in his home-converted shelter, I have extracted some photos from the video too:
