PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has confirmed that no action will be taken against its officer for allegedly roughing up a senior citizen during an operation to catch stray dogs.

PETALING JAYA: A man caught on CCTV throwing bricks at several stray dogs, and setting one of them on fire on one occasion, pleaded guilty today to a charge of committing animal cruelty.

However, Johor Bahru sessions court judge Che Wan Zaidi Che Wan Ibrahim postponed the sentencing on Braden Yap to April 18 as his lawyer, GK Sritharan, is away in the Philippines.

Our comments:

1. We really need street cameras everywhere. Without video evidence, it is so hard to catch the perpetrators or know what actually happened.
2. The maximum 3-year jail term and RM100,000 fine should be increased especially when violence, abuse and deaths are involved.
3. To all humans – this earth belongs to the animals too. Live and let live. Please.
