MunMun Furry Sanctuary is currently home to about 259 dogs and exactly 36 cats. It is now run by Phoebe Teh with the help of 3 workers. We are glad that animals in need of veterinary care are given what they need. Below are the medical cases that they have had to attend to in August and September (summary provided by Phoebe upon our request).
Dogs:
In August:
1 paralysed dog passed away.
In September
1 puppy rescued nearby our feeding area, 2 months old (estimate) female, sent to vet, suspected food poisoning, tick fever. On medication now
1 male adult dog named Handsome diagnosed with TVT. Now on weekly chemo jabs.
Dog population >< 259 dogs
Cats:
In September:
4 cats sent to vet
1 (Mun Cat Orange) sprained the right front leg and flu, on medication from vet.
1 (Mun Cat 3) taken to vet for a wound, weight loss and fever, could be FIP positive (dry FIP).
1 (Passion) heavy flu, phlegm, treated at vet’s.
1 (Leopard) light weight 2.x kg heavy flu, lack of appetite, treated at vet’s.
Cat population: 36
We asked Phoebe to check with the vet again regarding Mun Cat 3, suspected of being afflicted with dry FIP and we had already sourced for the treatment should Phoebe wish to pursue. Upon visiting the vet again, it turned out that the diagnosis was just a suspicion. The vet advised Phoebe to wait it out to see if more symptoms would show.
There is an Indy-look alike in the background. Rest assured it is NOT Indy!!
The body markings are different but the face is uncannily alike! A doppleganger?
This is Mun Cat 3, the one suspected of being afflicted with dry FIP.
